The Watch are a 5-piece band from Milan.  Their music is inspired by the classic style prog of the 70’s and in particular, by the music of Gabriel-era Genesis. The band, so incredibly authentic in what they are recreating, are endorsed by none other than Steve Hackett.

2012 sees The Watch take their Yellow Shoe tour across Europe, which will feature the usual mix of Genesis classics and their own material. This particular show will focus on 1971's Nursery Cryme in its entirety with the addition of some rarely played material from 1976, which for those old enough to remember, was a terrific year for Genesis.

To add a bit of a twist, The Watch will try and shake the formula up a bit this time by playing post Gabriel-era Genesis with highlights from the wonderful Wind and Wuthering album and a couple from A Trick of The Tail.

Ever wonder what the Genesis songs would have sounded like had Peter not left the band way back when? Simone's unique 'Gabrielesque' voice will allow you to wonder no more!

“These guys really knew their subject, with singer Simone Rossetti sounding exactly like Peter Gabriel. As they moved into the  powerful numbers such as Time Table and Can Utility and the Coastliners, you could feel the atmosphere build. By the time we got Musical Box and In the Cage, the band were feeding off a rapturous reception.”

Guitarist Giorgio Gabriel (his real name!) managed a beautiful rendition of Steve Hackett’s classical solo piece Horizons, made all the more captivating by playing it on 12-string.

... the highlight of the evening would be Supper's Ready. It was flawless: absolutely stunning. Tears flowed. Like most of the audience I've seen all the Genesis tribute bands of the last few years, including the technically brilliant but slightly soulless Musical Box. No-one outwith Genesis themselves has played this song better. I would dare to say they were the best tribute band, Genesis or otherwise, I've ever seen.”
