Biography
For a band who've never been away, Stray have made a spectacular comeback! Del Bromham's Stray are a power trio that mix scintillating lead guitar with melodic anthems such as 'All in Your Mind' (which has been covered by Iron Maiden) - back in the ‘70s they were one of the hardest gigging and consistently excellent live acts on the circuit. With fiery guitarist Del Bromham still at the top of his game, the new Stray line-up consisting of Del, Stuart Uren and Karl Randall is setting new standards for one of Britain’s most enduring rock bands.
For the loyal, long-term Stray fans, this has been a welcome return to the front line, but Stray find they are picking up an additional following - a new generation of fans who appreciate good, solid, well-written, well-played songs, performed with that special spark that is only ignited when you get a band who are completely at ease with each other musically, and who know their trade through and through. It's no-nonsense entertainment (but you always feel there is bit of nonsense never too far away!).
Support comes from emerging Leicester band Jasper Jacks, a trio featuring the Musician's very own Dave Morris on drums, Dan Harper on guitar and Raj Basra on bass/lead vocals. Musically a cross between Rose Tattoo and AC/DC, anyone who saw their debut gig at the Musician in June will know that there are big things to come from this band. If you want subtle and understated they are not the band for you, if it's raw, loud and energetic rock n' roll then look no further!
