Biography

The Pineapple Thief began in 1999 as the studio project of Bruce Soord, who formed the band in 2003 in response to fan’s demands for a live show. After spending 6 albums with underground label 'Cyclops' and remarkably selling 25,000 records, the band stepped up to a major league by signing with Kscope early in 2008. Finding themselves in a natural home alongside acts such as Steven Wilson, Anathema and The Engineers, the band has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the rock world, fuelled by a pro-active and loyal fan base.

The band's 'bittersweet progressive' sound has entered the consciousness of audiences across Europe, on the back of 2008's acclaimed 'Tightly Unwound' album. The live show has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most exciting sounds around, delivered with a seemingly impossible level of energy and passion by the British 4-piece. With gigs planned in Italy, Germany, Holland, the UK, Belgium, Portugal and North America in 2009 alone, the stage is set for The Pineapple Thief to continue their amazing journey.

"Vocally similar to the excellent Elbow and musically you can hear a hint of Radiohead." - Get Ready to ROCK! - June 2008
